Even so, its possible from this record to assemble a basic serial number chart for these instruments. The log book shows the serial numbers jumping around quite a bit for the Selmer/Adolphe Sax saxophones. Instruments manufactured after 1936 range in serial number from ~1350-3600. The record is much less complete after 1936.

Can you please tell me when it was made There is a fairly detailed record of these instruments recorded in a log book in the Selmer archives in Paris up to 1936 through serial number ~1364. I have a Weltklang alto saxophone with serial number 13461. Plays all notes in sub-tones right down to low F - and I love the D# mechanism that actually works Weltklang Bassic Sa Apart from needing a very gentle cleaning it seems to be just about as new. With 3 mm pads and a medium sized chamber mouthpiece it has a reasonable intonation I found a pretty rough and ready serial number list by putting in a search for 'Weltklang saxophone' It also gave some very fine photos.
